Issues
Does it sometimes feel that:
Pressing daily concerns are making staff lose sight of organisational long-term
goals;
■
■
Some business processes and functions are not running efficiently in the
organisation;
The need to change certain things is being recognised but the necessary change
is not successfully fully achieved;
On some projects being undertaken by the organisation there is lack of clarity as to
the intended outcomes and the benefits that are intended to be accrued;
In spite of training being undertaken there is no measurable increase in
performance.

Das Management Services helps Clients address these kinds of issues, allowing them to begin to utilise the full
potential of their organisations’ people, assets and supply chains. We provide integrated strategic coaching and
business consulting to increase overall performance for Clients within both the public and private sectors and for
Clients of varying scales of size. We recognise that each Client has unique needs and our philosophy is to create
practical solutions that fit with the Client's approach and is adapted to its organisational culture, resources and
objectives.
Our Consulting Process
Our associates use a rigorous diagnostic and consulting process, an integrated approach that is flexible, thorough
and results-oriented:
We first look to define the Client’s position, its perception of the situation, what goals it has regarding the final
outcome and who has power to influence the outcome. Once this stage is concluded we agree with the Client
what value we will deliver and what contribution in respect of resources and knowledge the Client will offer in
return;
Next we seek to determine the nature and detail of the issue to be addressed. We map the construction of the
system under consideration, identify what and who is to be included and excluded from the change, and
determine what areas pose a risk for the assignment;
We use creative techniques to develop a sustainable solution that is measured against clear success criteria.
We take as divergent a view as possible to find potential options and then choose the option that meets the
defined criteria;
We determine the fundamental aspects that drive and underpin the change process, and in particular the
human factors that need to be managed;
Through the use of quantitative and qualitative measures we ensure that the change is taking placed as
planned;
We ensure that the change will be sustained, using learning that emerges from the transition, the skills of the
change agents and the sharing of new knowledge and skills;
Finally, we end the engagement process with the Client, emphasising the need to understand the final
outcomes, the added value, new learning and what further action might be undertaken.

Pay Backs
We find it useful to use a structure of an Organisational Maturity Matrix and checklists to identify where best to start
so that quick wins are obtained with short pay back periods on the investment in consulting services. We employ a
scale of 0 – 5 in looking at the alignment of strategies, capabilities in programme management and change
management, and the underlying processes:
0 - Non-Existent:
Complete lack of any recognised process. The
organisation has not even recognised that there is an issue
to be addressed.
1 - Initial:
Evidence that the organisation recognises there are issues
that exist which need to be addressed; staff may initiate
process activities only on an as needed basis.
2 - Repeatable:
Processes designed so that similar procedures are followed
by individuals; there is a high reliance on individual
knowledge and skill level.
3 - Defined:
A standardised and documented level of process;
processes are in place and objectives, activities, inputs and
outputs for the processes are defined; communicated
through training.
4 - Managed:
Processes which are good practice and under constant
improvement; automation and tools are beginning to
monitor compliance.
5 - Optimised:
Facility of the process structure to receive and provide
quality data to external management and business
processes; process driven organisational culture exists.
Our Consulting Approach
We can work over a continuous period of time as a senior member of a Client’s team in
an interim management role supporting the management of a business function or the
driving through of a specific change or capital programme.
